Agape Chiropractic Serving Pompano Beach and Fort LauderdaleWhy Agape?You might be wondering: “Why Agape… what is Agape?” You might even have a hard time with the pronunciation (many do). Well, in the English language, we have one word for love. You say you love your spouse and you also love ice cream. When the same word is used to describe ice cream and your spouse, one of them is ripped off! In the Greek language, there is more than one word for love. The proper word is used based on the type of love you’re trying to communicate. A recent beer commercial made the phrase “Love you Man!” popular. This is the kind of “love” we have for our friends. It’s a sort of appreciation, or, brotherly love. In the Greek language, it would be a “phileo” love. We employ the Greek term in our naming of Philadelphia, the city of “brotherly love”. When two people really love each other, the Greek language might use a form of “eros” to describe the kind of love they might enjoy with each other. It is where we get our word for “erotic”. It is a form of love that a married couple enjoys with each other. “Agape” love, on the other hand, is the highest form of love. [Agape] Love is patient, [Agape] love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. [Agape] Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Cor 4-8 NIV) Agape is like love with charity. It is the kind of love that gives. It is selfless. Agape love is the all encompassing highest form of love that one can give. It is the kind of love that describes Christ’s love for the church. A love so powerful that He willingly died for us that we might live. Our office name is a constant reminder for the kind of Christian love we strive to have for others – where we set aside our selfish desires and think of others better than ourselves. Our office participates in most insurance programs. We also accept auto accident and workers compensation cases. For patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can be arranged. We accept auto accident, workers compensation, personal injury and most health insurance plans, including Medicare. Since there are so many plans and coverage varies widely, please call us to find out if your plan covers care in our office. Our staff will verify and explain your benefits before treatment, at no charge. No InsuranceFor patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can be arranged. If you have no insurance or do not have chiropractic benefits there is still a way for you to receive the care you need. Many patients pay directly for care, as they discover chiropractic to be extremely cost-effective and affordable. Laying the foundationChiropractic care is like building a house – certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care . . .
Phase 1: Relief CareIf you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks. Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative CareDuring the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. It is typical to need care 4-8 times per month for 6-24 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem. Phase 3: Wellness CareOnce your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-4 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals. Welcome to the Agape Chiropractic new patient center!
